Nights run cold up here - pack warm layers even in July.
Doctor Creek sits at the south end of the Fish Lake basin near Mallard Bay, roughly two miles from the water. The campground is inside the Pando aspen clone, so the trees around your tent are one organism sharing a root system, which is a strange thing to sleep in the middle of. Facilities hold up for the elevation: flush toilets, paved roads and spurs, and drinking water from faucets in the loops. Only some of the sites take reservations, and the rest go first come, first served.
Tip: Walk the Doctor Creek trail through the largest living organism on Earth.
Out the tent door: Fish Lake (Fishing, 2 mi) · Piute Reservoir (Fishing, 29 mi) · Otter Creek Reservoir (Fishing, 29 mi) · Navajo Knobs (Hike, 31 mi)
