Perception Park is a river camp rather than a lake camp, which changes the whole trip. You are on the Ogden River at 5,300 feet, low enough for a long season and close enough to Ogden for a supply run. The loops are built to hold groups, so it suits two or three families traveling together better than a solo tent. Sites go through recreation.gov, so plan ahead rather than driving up and hoping.
Tip: Stocked river section right at camp is perfect for kids' first trout.
Out the tent door: Causey Reservoir (Fishing, 4 mi) · Pineview Reservoir (Fishing, 11 mi) · Waterfall Canyon (Hike, 15 mi) · Lost Creek Reservoir (Fishing, 16 mi)
