Nights run cold up here - pack warm layers even in July.
Redman is the highest of the Big Cottonwood campgrounds and the last one before the road ends at Brighton, so it works as a trailhead camp more than a base for driving around. Lake Mary, Martha, and Catherine start about a mile away, which makes an alpine lake chain something you walk to instead of drive to. At 8,300 feet the usable window is roughly June into September. Sites go through recreation.gov, not first come.
Tip: Walk to Silver Lake boardwalk for moose at dusk.
