South is the other in-canyon campground, and the practical difference from Watchman is that it has no hookups and no showers at all. That pushes it toward tents and smaller rigs, and it means you are choosing position over comfort. You are still inside the park entrance at 3,900 feet, within walking distance of the Watchman trailhead and the shuttle stop. The season here runs shorter than Watchman's, so it is a spring-through-fall camp rather than a year-round one.
Tip: Cottonwood shade sites by the river are gold in summer.
