Use sunset as your turnaround alarm.
The Forest Service calls this one steep, and it is, but the grade is short enough that kids who quit on most hikes will finish this. You pass several smaller cascades on the way up to the main falls, which is unusual for a trail this brief. Battle Creek Trail #050 keeps going past the waterfall onto the west face of Mount Timpanogos, so the same trailhead serves a short family walk or an all day climb. Bikes and horses share the lower section.
Quick canyon walk to a splashy falls - a Utah County family staple.
