Use sunset as your turnaround alarm.
Standing on an island summit surrounded by the Great Salt Lake is not something you can do anywhere else in Utah. The trail runs 6.6 miles round trip for 2,064 feet, and it is fully exposed, which is why locals treat this as a cool-weather hike and stay off it in July. Bikes and horses are not allowed on Frary Peak, and the park requires you to stay on the trail with no cross-country travel. Dogs are welcome on leash, though there is no water on the route.
