Why Hike This
Despite the name, wind did not make this. The Utah Geological Survey traces it to rainwater turning acidic and dissolving joints in the Lodgepole Limestone, rock laid down in a tropical sea about 350 million years ago; the Logan River then cut the canyon and drained the cave into open air. What you reach is a triple arch with a skylight in the roof, sometimes called the Witch's Castle, that you can walk into and sit down in. There is little shade on the climb, so go early.
