Why Go
What separates this from a themed pioneer town is that a good share of the buildings are genuine, moved here from around the state and reassembled, including Brigham Young's Forest Farmhouse. Replicas fill the gaps in Deseret Village. It sits at the foot of the Wasatch near the mouth of Emigration Canyon, the ground the wagons actually came down, and the monument there was dedicated in 1947 for the centennial. Plan on a slow half day, because the site runs about 450 acres.
