Anderson Cove is the rare Forest Service campground that feels closer to a small resort. Roads and parking spurs are paved throughout, hosts live on site, and a dump station, ice, and firewood are all available without leaving the loop. Toilets are vaults, but each one is lit inside, which matters more than it sounds at 2 am with a kid in tow. The swim beach beside the campground is day use only, so it is not a place to leave gear overnight.
Tip: Weekends are loud and fun. Midweek is a different, quieter reservoir.
Out the tent door: Pineview Reservoir (Fishing, 1 mi) · Waterfall Canyon (Hike, 4 mi) · Glassmans Pond (Ogden) (Fishing, 4 mi) · Fort Buenaventura Pond (Fishing, 6 mi)
