Nights run cold up here - pack warm layers even in July.
Moosehorn sits about a mile up the highway from Mirror Lake at 10,400 feet, and the whole camp is unpaved with no hookups. There is no potable water, so haul in what you drink and cook with. Vault toilets are open seasonally. The lake is closed to motorized boats and holds rainbow trout, which makes it an easy place to hand a kid a spinning rod before breakfast.
Tip: The quieter alternative when Mirror Lake is booked - but reserve it, do not just turn up.
