Why Camp Here
Trial Lake is the paved one up here, which is worth knowing when the neighboring Mirror Lake and Moosehorn loops are dirt. The lake sits right against the campground, and motorized boats and ATVs are prohibited, so it stays calm for a canoe or a belly boat. There is no potable water, so bring every gallon you will need. Vault toilets, no hookups, and reservations through recreation.gov.
Tip: Day-hike the Lofty Lake Loop from up the road.
