The Middle Provo is a tailwater, and that is the whole story: cold water leaves Jordanelle year round, so the season here never really closes. It runs about twelve miles down the Heber Valley to Deer Creek, dropping from roughly 5,880 feet below the dam to 5,440 feet at the Charleston Bridge. From Legacy Bridge on Midway Lane upstream to Jordanelle Dam the rule is artificial flies and lures only, with a limit of two trout under fifteen inches. Below that bridge, statewide rules apply.

Best time: Mid-morning hatch windows; winter midday. Season: All year (blue-ribbon)
Local tip: 3,000+ browns per mile between Jordanelle and Deer Creek. Legendary - and busy. Walk further than the last guy.
