Cat kit: 2/0 circle hooks + liver after dark. Walleye kit: bottom-bouncer + crawler harness at dusk. Winter loadout: auger, ice cleats, short jig rod, insulated bibs.
Utah Lake is a warmwater fishery and the species list shows it: channel catfish, white bass, walleye and largemouth rather than trout. Two rules matter before you launch. All suckers must be released immediately, a protection for the June sucker that DWR and federal partners are working to recover. Northern pike have no limit and must be killed on the spot, because they were illegally introduced in 2011 and prey on both the June sucker and the sport fish.
