Why Go
Cedar City started as an iron town: Brigham Young sent missionaries here in the 1850s to mine and process ore, and this museum is where that story is kept. The centerpiece is the horse-drawn vehicle collection, wagons and carriages spanning 1850 to 1920, which is more interesting in person than it sounds on paper. There is also a replica blast furnace and the original foundry's town bell, the one confirmed surviving piece of it. Outside you will find historic cabins and the Hunter House, the oldest brick home left in town.
