Why Go
Water here runs two to seven times saltier than the ocean, which is the whole draw: you cannot sink, and the physics of that surprises people every time. This is the marina end of the lake, home to the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club and boat slips, with a visitor center and campsites ranging from full hookups to two primitive tent spots on the beach. It opened as a state park in 1978. Millions of migratory birds stop here, so bring binoculars along with the towel.
