Why Go
Piute is the one on this stretch of the Sevier that nobody has developed. The dam went in on the main fork of the river in 1908, the park opened in 1963, and the whole thing sits at 5,900 feet with the park on the reservoir's northwest shore. Access runs 24 hours a day, year-round, which matters if you want to be on the water before light. Do not expect services; plan the trip around the fish.
