The name is literal: a flour mill stood here before the dam, and the reservoir went in during 1970 as part of the Ferron Watershed Project. At 6,100 feet it is the low-key end of Castle Country, and the real trail mileage is next door in Ferron Canyon, on foot or on a bike. Fishing is open year-round. The campground is small and quiet, with power and water on the A, B and low-numbered sites, electric only on the rest, and a shower house.
