Why Go
Central Utah runs to cold mountain water, and Yuba is the opposite: a warm reservoir at 5,100 feet with enough sand that people camp right on the beach. Hiking and OHV trails run off the campsites, so it works as an ATV weekend as much as a boating one. The name comes from the local farmers and ranchers who built the dam between 1902 and 1917, who called it the U.B. Dam until the phonetic spelling stuck. They had to build it themselves or lose their water rights.

- Yuba fishes differently from most Utah reservoirs, holding walleye, northern pike, tiger muskie, wipers, perch, catfish and carp rather than trout. There is developed camping and primitive camping, plus a pair of heated and air-conditioned cabins named Walleye and Perch. Rock art, pottery pieces and stone tools survive around the park, along with mining and ranching remnants.
