The dinosaur tracks at Red Fleet are the real thing, not a replica display. They are three-toed prints left by animals walking on two legs, ranging from three to seventeen inches, pressed into Nugget sandstone more than 200 million years ago, with a second set in the younger Carmel Formation. The Trackway Trail runs about 1.5 miles and state parks calls it somewhat strenuous, with repeated ups and downs, so it is not a stroller walk. The reservoir itself covers 750 acres at 5,500 feet.
